A Space for You to Engage With God, Creatively
Two hours. Four simple practices. One deep experience.
It’s hard to make space in life. Or even know what to do with it. And not feel bored, distracted or not “spiritual” enough.
Each CREATE_SPACE opens up the sanctuary and opens wide a story from Scripture to create a two-hour “playground” with visual art, worship, and directed spiritual practices you can both try and take home — all designed to lead you into a memorable encounter with Jesus.
- Centering prayer
- Lectio divina (spiritual reading)
- Imaginative prayer
- Examen (prayerful reflection)
We also create space for you to reflect and respond freely. You can wander the sanctuary, meditate on the stained glass and visual art on display, and even respond with your own creativity: You’ll find tables filled mixed-media paper, watercolors, colored pencils and more.
Contact Brian Hohmeier with any questions.
We’re finalizing our date for the next CREATE_SPACE. In the meantime, if you haven’t signed up for CREATE_SPACE before, ensure you get the latest update by signing up for contact list!
Is there a cost to attend?
CREATE_SPACE is completely free to attend, and childcare is provided at no cost to you.
Do I need to bring anything?
We strongly recommend that you bring a journal, especially one you might already use for prayer. You may also wish to bring your Bible, but you’ll have the opportunity just to listen to the Scripture being read to you. Art supplies will be provided, but artists are welcome to bring their own tools of the trade!
What about kids?
Childcare will be provided with qualified, background-checked staff. Please register ahead of time in order to ensure we’ll have the appropriate amount of staff on hand.
Now here’s a question for you: Do you have a passion for children’s ministry and spiritual formation? We really want to see CREATE_SPACE grow for all ages, including imaginative prayer practices and art projects that help them meet and experience Jesus where our kids are at. Contact Brian Hohmeier to talk about helping us realize this key part of our vision.
