Meeting Needs

CTK Love Inc.Love Inc. is a ministry that creates a way for local churches and charities to connect together, pooling all of their resources into one helpful place.

In Ohio we have Love Inc. Cuyahoga County and Love Inc. Lorain County.

When the church recives a request from an individual in need we refer them to Love Inc, who is prepared to assess that specific need, and then using their network of local churches, can refer them to the most helpful ministry available.

HeatShare Program

CTK - Salvation Army HeatShareThe Salvation Army HeatShare Program (also called the Energy Share program), runs from January through May and gives one time assistance toward natural gas bills for low-income and disabled persons.

PUCO Support

CTK - Extended Payments PlanOhio gas and electric companies offer one-third and one-sixth payment plans that are supported by the Public Commission of Ohio (PUCO).

These plans run from November 1st - April 15th and allow customers to pay one-third or one-sixth of their existing balance in order to help them maintain or restore their service.

HEAP Cooling Assistance

CTK - HEAP Cooling AssistanceOhio's Summer Crisis program is a division of HEAP, and helps low-income families, elderly residents, and those with chronic medical conditions, with a onetime assistance payment. This onetime payment can be used to help pay for electricity or toward the purchase of a fan or air conditioning unit.

According to federal guidelines, those eligible for this program must make no more than 200% of the federal poverty guidelines. Applications are accepted between July 1st and August 31st.

HEAP Heating Assistance

CTK - HEAP Heating AssistanceThe US government Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP), provides heating and cooling assistance to low income families.

The Winter Crisis program accepts applications from August 1st through May 31st. Applicant must make no more than 200% of the of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.

Assistance is based on the number of people in the home, average fuel consumption, and total houes hold income. In most cases a onetime benefit will be paid directly to the energy supplier
